Drug Information Handbook for the Allied Health Professional
I have been using this book for several years, and update my book each time a new edition is released. It is a must-have for Medical Transcriptionists, especially those working in specialty medicine. It saves me time and doesn't give me more information than I really need. All of our front-office staff use this version as well to verify medication questions. It is easy to use and has turned out to be a real time saver.

Comprehensive Textbook of Suicidology
Published in Hardcover by Guilford Press (10 August, 2000)
Authors: Ronald Maris, Alan Berman, Morton Silverman, Alan L. Berman, Ronald W. Maris, and Morton M. Silverman
Average review score:

Suicidology book of the year 2000
Much has been published in the suicidology field and with great value but the Comprehensive Textbook of Suicidology comes to fill a gap in comprehensivness.

Encyclopedic, this book is surely an excellent resource for those who are engaged in suicide prevention and also for all health professionals who may encounter in this book the answers to some of the questions raised when confronted with a suicidal patient.

The merits goes to the three main authors, Dr. Marris, Berman and Silverman but also to their contributing authors for this excellent work.

As Director and Project manager of the Suicide & Parasuicide Web Site - The Suicidology web, we have awarded this book the title of "Book of the year 2000".

Contemporary Composers
Published in Hardcover by St James Pr (January, 1992)
Authors: Brian Morton, Pamela Collins, and Gale Group
Average review score:

Best single source for contemporary composers
This is an encyclopedia of Contemporary Composers which politically correctly covers a lot of unbias international composers. (For instances, composers from Taiwan.) It also includes young talented composers. Every composers has good (1) biographical information (2) list of compositions and (3) an article about the composer. If this is only one book that I can get in this subject, I will choose this book, but not this first edition. The second edition was published by a different publisher. If you want to buy this book, you should go for the second edition.

Country Living Crafting Soap at Home
Published in Paperback by Hearst Books (March, 2003)
Authors: Country Living, Keith Scott Morton, and Mike Hulbert
Average review score:

Surprisingly good!!
I didn't really expect much when I read that it includes M&P recipes, but I was pleasantly surprised at how useful it looks!

Most of the book is concerned with recipes for CP soapmaking, with seven basic recipes (5 all veggie oil, one tallow, one goat-milk & veggie oil) and several specialty recipes. Without actually sitting down and counting recipes, I'd estimate that it's about 75% CP recipes, 22% rebatch/remilled CP recipes, and 3% M&P and other misc recipes. Lots of good photos of the soaps that are REAL - their rebatch pictures look like the lumpy weird soap I get when I rebatch, which I found to be refreshingly honest.

I haven't actually tried any of the recipes yet, but when I run them through online calculators they come up pretty good. I'll probably take 1-2% off the lye for several of the recipes to be at about 5-6% superfat, but there are a few I know I won't be changing.

Basic instructions looked good, accurate and concise, but might be a bit sparse for brand-new soapers if they have trouble following written instructions without any photos. Not a lot of charts and tables on the oils themselves, this is more of a recipe book than a reference book. Not a lot of pages are wasted on pictures of gloves and thermometers and little jars of oil - in fact there are no pictures of equpipment at all which I count as a plus...does anybody NOT know what a pair of gloves or a jar of olive oil looks like?

In addition to soap recipes, there are also a few stray recipes scattered in there for things such as hair rinse, laundry soap, bath tea, shower gel, how to infuse oils, dish soap, etc. All very simple, without a lot of bizarre or hard to find ingredients.

I was also happy to see that almost every recipe is vegetarian, and uses all natural ingredients. No synthetic fragrance oils or colorings are included in any of these recipes.

Keep this book by your breakfast table!!
A reference for people who love food and love words. I keep my copy beside the breakfast table and pull it out regularly to learn a little about what I am eating and how it came to be called by that name. I liked it so much I got copies to give away as gifts.

Deford Bailey: A Black Star in Early Country Music
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Tennessee Pr (November, 1991)
Authors: David C. Morton and Charles K. Wolfe
Average review score:

the Harmonica Wizard; DeFord Bailey
This book is a must have for any country, blues and folk music fan. This book is important in more that one way. It tells you the story of a great man and you get to learn much about early country radio and music. The book also contains many pictures of the Harmonica Wizard, DeFord Bailey.

DeFord was the first artist to ever appear on the Grand Ole Opry. I also want to recomend the CD; The Legendary DeFord Bailey.

You can look forward to many great hours reading about his life and listening to his famous and unparallelled harmonica playing, banjo pickin and guitar playing

DeFord was truly a folk music genius

God Bless Him
